KINGSPORT, Tenn. – The Barton men's and women's swimming teams wrapped up competition for the 2025-26 campaign at the Conference Carolinas Championship which concluded on Saturday at the Kingsport Aquatic Center.
The Bulldogs' men squad took fifth place overall with 334 points while Montevallo captured the crown (658 points) for its first league championship in school history.
The Barton women's team took seventh overall (173 points) while UNC Pembroke captured its third consecutive Conference Carolinas Championship.
Highlighting the event for the Bulldogs was senior
Natan Alexandre (Sao Paulo, BRAZIL), who won the men's 100-yard breaststroke for the second straight year with an NCAA "B" cut time of 55.04 seconds.
Alexandre also earned all-conference honors in the men's 200-yard breaststroke (2:04.91). Barton freshman
Elijah Dredge (Pretoria, SOUTH AFRICA) took second place in the men's 200-yard backstroke (1:50.41) to garner all-league laurels as well.
The highest finish on the women's side came courtesy of freshman
Kristina Chudikova (Bratislava, SLOVAKIA), who finished fourth in the 100-yard freestyle (52.85 seconds) for the Bulldogs.
The 2026 NCAA Division II men's and women's swimming and diving championships will be held at Deaconess Aquatic Center in Evansville, Ind., on Tuesday, March 10 through Saturday, March 14.
