WILSON, N.C. – The Barton College Division of Athletics has announced the hiring of
Candice Wainschel as its new Assistant Coach for Field Hockey and Women's Lacrosse.
Wainschel becomes the first full-time assistant for both programs.

Having one of our own return to help lead the next generation of Bulldogs is a special moment for our program."
Wainschel was the lone senior on the inaugural field hockey for the Bulldogs in 2025 and was named the team's Most Valuable Player.
Wainschel, a native of Chico, Calif., is a five-time National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Academic Team honoree and also played for Adelphi University and the University of Mount Olive.

Wainschel is a 2026 graduate of Barton College with a bachelor's degree in organismal biology with a minor in psychology. Wainschel was a member of Barton College's President's List in 2025.
