WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's lacrosse team (0-2) suffered a 19-4 loss to Rockhurst (Mo.) (2-0) Thursday evening in the 2026 home opener for the Bulldogs at Electric Supply Company Field and Truist Stadium.
The Hawks' Kaylee Lary (Kansas City, Mo.) and Elise Magee (Port Moody, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANANDA) both scored three goals as the Rockhurst raced to a 14-1 halftime lead and never looked back in the resounding victory.
Lary added two assists for five total points as the Hawks held a decisive 34-15 advantage in shots taken while Kayla Stewart (Port Coquitlam, British Columbia) played the first half and earned the victory in goal.
For Barton, sophomore midfielder
Berghan Balparda (Melbourne, Fla.) finished with a goal and an assist while freshman goalkeeper
Alexandra Ashton (Chantilly, Va.) made nine stops but suffered the loss.
Barton remains at home to take on Catawba on Saturday afternoon beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, Rockhurst travels to Belmont, N.C., to take on Belmont Abbey on Friday afternoon starting at 3:00 p.m.
