CHICAGO, Ill. – The Barton men's volleyball team (1-4) fell in three sets to Roosevelt (4-3), 3-0, Saturday afternoon at the Goodman Center.
The Lakers defeated the Bulldogs by scores of 25-18, 25-18 and 25-17 was Roosevelt beat Barton for the second time in three days.
Roosevelt was paced by Mark Zmojdzin (Prospect Heights, Ill.) with 12 kills in addition to three service aces while Martino Bertagnoli (Sassuolo, ITALY) added 34 assists in the victory.
The Lakers also hit .388 for the contest while limiting the Bulldogs to a .066 hitting percentage.
Barton was led by freshman outside hitter
Jacob Martinez (Tucson, Ariz.) with six kills and sophomore setter
Sammy DeBilzan (Lexington, Ky.) dished out 12 assists in the losing effort.
Barton hosts Fort Valley State in its home opener on Friday, February 6, beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Wilson Gymnasium.
Roosevelt, meanwhile, next hosts Defiance on Friday night at 6:00 p.m.
