YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The Barton men's basketball team (4-9, 2-3) lost to Young Harris (8-5, 4-1), 101-92, Saturday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas game at The Harp Recreation and Commencement Center.
The Mountain Lions' Carl Cleveland (Commerce, Ga.) led all scorers with 39 points including 19-of-21 from the charity stripe while Justin Payne (Athens, Ga.) added 24 points in the win.
Young Harris also powered its way to the victory thanks to its prowess at the free throw line, hitting 34-of-43 attempts (79 percent).

Jaylen Faber (Columbia, S.C.) led the visitors with 25 points and also shot well from the free throw line, connecting on 12-of-13 attempts (92 percent).

Sean Quick-Streeter (Columbia, S.C.) added 17 points off the bench and the Bulldogs hit 10 treys on the day despite the loss.
Barton plays the final of a three-game road stand on Wednesday, January 7, when the Bulldogs travel to Ferrum, Va., to take on league-foe Ferrum beginning at 7:00 p.m. Young Harris, meanwhile, takes on Erskine on Wednesday afternoon starting at 4:00 p.m., in Due West, S.C.
