WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's basketball team (7-11, 5-5) exploded in the second half to rout North Greenville (9-8, 5-5), 89-54, Monday afternoon on MLK Day in a Conference Carolinas contest at Wilson Gymnasium.

Trey Fields had a monster double-double – 22 points and 16 rebounds – while junior guard
Jaylen Faber (Columbia, S.C.) added 21 points and hit five of the Bulldogs' 12 treys in the victory.
Holding a 39-33 edge at halftime, the Bulldogs scored the first 16 points after intermission to take complete control of the game.
Barton shot 57 percent (20-of-35) after the break and held a 50-42 edge on the boards on its way to their second straight victory. Barton senior guard
Caleb Reams (Rocky Mount, N.C.) came close to a triple-double - nine points, 10 assists and eight rebounds - as well.
North Greenville was paced by Carter Bobbitt (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) and Josh Linder (Spartanburg, S.C.) with eight points each but the Trailblazers were doomed from the charity stripe, connecting on just seven-of-19 (37 percent) attempts.
Barton hits the road again on Saturday, January 24, to face Erskine starting at 4:00 p.m., in Due West, S.C. in conference action. North Greenville, meanwhile, hosts Payne on Wednesday, January 21, at Hayes Gymnasium beginning at 7:00 p.m.
