WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's soccer team (1-1) suffered a 2-0 loss to Florida Southern (2-0) Sunday afternoon at the Bulldogs Athletic Complex.
The Mocs scored both goals in the second half thanks to Tim Baierlein (Amberg, GERMANY) and Darcy Moffat (London, ENGLAND) in the 68th and 77th minutes respectively.
Baierlein scored off a breakaway and a defensive breakdown while Moffat found the back of the net at the top left of the circle. Hector Oliver (Burriana, SPAIN) was credited with the assist on both plays.
Florida Southern held a 17-8 advantage in shots taken while Lasse Dettmer (Linsburg, GERMANY) earned the shutout win in goal after stopping a pair of shots.

Devin Agostinelli (Apex, N.C.) suffered the loss despite four saves and coming in as a reserve. Senior
Pedro Bonfa (Sao Paulo, BRAZIL) started the first 38 minutes of the contest and held the Mocs scoreless.
Barton hits the road to take on Coker on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m., in Hartsville, S.C., while Florida Southern hosts Christian Brothers on Friday, Sept. 12, beginning at 4:30 p.m.
