HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Barton men's soccer team (1-1-1) fought Coker (0-0-3) to a scoreless tie Wednesday afternoon at the Cobras Athletic Field.
Coker held a 13-8 advantage in shots taken and tied its third consecutive opponent to start the season.
Barton, which was held scoreless for the second straight contest, was playing its first road contest of the year.
Barton sophomore goalkeeper,
Devin Agostinelli (Apex, N.C.), earned the shutout after stopping eight shots.
Meanwhile, Coker's goalkeeper, Ismael Caria (Monagas, VENEZUELA), also picked up the shutout after stopping three Bulldog shots.
Barton remains on the road to take on USC Aiken in Aiken, S.C., on Saturday afternoon starting at 4:30 p.m., while Coker hosts Carson-Newman in a South Atlantic Conference contest Saturday beginning at 3:00 p.m.
