WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's volleyball team (2-0) opened the season with a pair of wins Friday on the first day of the Bulldogs Invitational at Wilson Gymnasium over Davis & Elkins and Frostburg State.

The Bulldogs won over the Senators by scores of 25-13, 25-13 and 25-10 in the three-set sweep.
Barton was led by senior outside hitter
Lexi Wasil (Prescott, Ariz.) with nine kills and junior setter
Paige Bagwell (Kings Mountain, N.C.) added 28 assists as the Bulldogs limited the Senators to just -.040 hitting percentage in the easy win.
Barton 3, Frostburg State 2
In a much tougher contest, the Bulldogs won over the Bobcats by scores of 25-20, 23-25, 25-18, 25-27 and 15-11.
Wasil led the way with a match-high 26 kills while sophomore outside hitter
Bailey McIntyre (Mooresville, N.C.) added a monster double-double – 16 kills and 22 digs – in the victory.
Bagwell totaled 55 assists as the Bulldogs remained unbeaten on the year.
Frostburg State was led by Dani Kunkle (Harrisonburg, Va.) with 13 kills and 13 digs for a double-double despite the loss.
On the final day of the invite on Saturday, Frostburg State faces Newberry (2:00 p.m.) and Davis & Elkins (4:00 p.m.) while Barton hosts Newberry starting at 6:00 p.m.
