HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Barton women's soccer team (0-1) fell to Coker (1-0), 1-0, Thursday evening in the 2025 season opener at the Cobras Athletic Complex.
Coker scored the lone goal of the match in the 23rd minute when Catriona McNeil (Esbjerg, DENMARK) found the back off the net off a pass from Alexis Spivey (Charleston, S.C.), who was credited with the assist.
Coker held a 17-4 advantage in shots taken while Rhyan Parkin (Huntersville, N.C.) earned the shutout victory in goal after stopping three shots.
Barton freshman
Lily Diedrich (Severna Park, Md.) suffered the loss in goal for the visitors despite seven saves on the night.
The match was the first under new Bulldogs' mentor
Jason Hamilton.
Barton hosts Wingate in its home opener on Wednesday, September 10, at 5:00 p.m., while Coker hosts USC Beaufort Sunday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m.
