SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Barton women's field hockey team (0-7, 0-4) lost to Converse (6-2, 3-1) by a 5-0 score on Tuesday evening in a South Atlantic Conference contest at Weisiger Stadium.
The Valkyries' Amparo Figueroa (Santa Rosa, ARGENTINA) tallied a hat trick – three goals – to lead Converse to its second victory over Barton this season.
The Valkyries defeated the Bulldogs by an 8-0 score on Saturday, September 6, in Wilson, N.C., in the season opener.
Converse held a 21-0 advantage in shots taken while Camille Hordies (Virginal, BELGIUM) earned the shutout victory in goal. Barton junior goalkeeper
Gracyn Arruda (Richmond, Va.) tallied 11 saves despite the loss.
The Bulldogs return home to take on league-foe Coker on Friday night beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Electric Supply Company Field and Truist Stadium.
Converse, meanwhile, hosts Lincoln Memorial in a conference match on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
