FERRUM, Va. – The Barton field hockey team (0-6, 0-5) fell to Belmont Abbey (4-3, 4-1) by a 5-0 score Saturday afternoon at Electric Supply Company Field and Truist Stadium.
The Crusaders, who beat the Bulldogs for the second time in eight days, received two goals from both Sarah Schumacher (Cologne, GERMANY) and Nikki Jonkers (Valkenswaard, THE NETHERLANDS) in the victory.
Belmont Abbey held a 33-1 advantage in shots taken while Annmarie Mullen (Charlotte, N.C.) played the first half and earned the win in goal.

Gracyn Arruda (Richmond, Va.) made 13 saves in the losing effort. The Bulldogs continue to search for their first victory and first goal on the season.
Barton hits the road to take on Converse on Tuesday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m., in a league contest.
Belmont Abbey, meanwhile, returns home to face Lander on Friday, October 3, starting at 7:00 p.m.
