SALISBURY, N.C. – The Barton men's soccer team (3-3-1) lost to Catawba (4-2) by a 2-0 score Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference regional affair at Frock Field.
The Indians scored just 7:43 into the match on a goal by Tomas Kelly (Manchester, ENGLAND) to take control. Catawba's Giovanni Benericetti (Florence, ITALY) rounded out the scoring in the 49th minute.
Catawba held a 25-5 edge in shots taken while Hector Vara (Mostoles, SPAIN) earned the shutout victory in goal after registering a save.

Alejandro Sepulveda (Cali, COLOMBIA) made five stops but suffered the loss for the visitors.
Barton moves back into Conference Carolinas play on Saturday when the Bulldogs travel to Franklin Springs, Ga., to take on Emmanuel beginning at 3:00 p.m.
Catawba faces Coker in South Atlantic Conference play on Wednesday, October 1, starting at 7:00 p.m., in Hartsville, S.C.
