CARY, N.C. – The Barton men's and women's cross country teams competed Friday evening at the Adidas Challenge at WakeMed Soccer Park.
On the women's side, Barton took 14th overall while North Carolina State won with 38 points.
Barton was led by freshman
Lena Warren (Clayton, N.C.), who took 21st overall with a time of 21:03 over the 5K course. The Wolfpack's Hannah Gapes (Rotorua, NEW ZEALAND) was the individual medalist, finishing in 16:01.
In the men's competition, Barton took 13th overall and was paced by sophomore
Trey Lamm (Lucama, N.C.). Lamm placed 121st overall with a time of 21:03 over the 6K course.
North Carolina won the men's team race with a perfect score of 15 while Jack Bowen, an unattached runner, was the individual champion (17:58).
The Barton cross country teams next competes in UNC Greensboro's Spartan Classic on Friday, October 3, in Kernersville, N.C.
