WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's volleyball team (3-4, 0-1) fell to Francis Marion (2-6, 1-0) by a 3-1 score on Tuesday evening in the Conference Carolinas opener at Wilson Gymnasium.
The Patriots won over the Bulldogs by scores of 25-16, 25-17, 13-25 and 28-26.
Francis Marion was led by Madilyn Gartner (Albertville, Minn.) with 14 kills and was one of three Patriots to hit double-digits in kills while Aubrey Johnson (Chanhassen, Minn.) added a double-double – 37 assists and 14 digs – in the victory.

Bailey McIntyre (Mooresville, N.C.) led the way for the home team with 18 kills to go along with 11 digs for a double-double while sophomore libero
Kylie Simpson (Lexington, Ky.) added 23 digs in the losing effort.
Barton, however, hit just 0.092 for the match in suffering its third straight setback.
Barton hits the road to take on North Greenville in league contest Friday at 7:00 p.m., in Tigerville, S.C., while Francis Marion hosts league-foe Converse on Friday evening starting at 6:00 p.m.
