WISE, Va. – The Barton women's volleyball team suffered a pair of losses to Concord (3-2) and UVA Wise (3-0) Saturday on the final day of the Cavalier Classic at the David J. Prior Convocation Center.
Concord 3, Barton 2
The Mountain Lions rallied from a set down twice to defeat the Bulldogs by scores of 17-25, 25-20, 22-25, 25-16 and 15-11.
Concord was led by Maddie Stull (Princeton, W.Va.) with 12 kills and Chloe Thompson (Cool Ridge, W.Va.) added a double-double – 11 kills and 17 digs – as the Mountain Lions remained unbeaten on the season.
Barton junior outside hitter
Mattie Wells (Elkin, N.C.) finished with a career-high 19 kills while sophomore outside hitter
Bailey McIntyre (Mooresville, N.C.) totaled 16 kills and 20 digs in the losing effort.

Paige Bagwell (Kings Mountain, N.C.) tallied an impressive double-double as well – 30 assists and 21 – but the Bulldogs came up short.
UVA Wise 3, Barton 0
The Cavaliers won over the Bulldogs by scores of 25-19, 25-19 and 25-13 and were paced by Mia Poag's (Nolensville, Tenn.) nine kills.
McIntyre and senior outside hitter
Lexi Wasil (Prescott, Ariz.) both finished with a team-high nine kills but the Bulldogs hit just 0.086 in the contest in the setback.
Barton opens Conference Carolinas play on Tuesday evening at home against Francis Marion at 6:00 p.m., at Wilson Gymnasium.
