HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Barton field hockey team (0-3, 0-2) fell to Coker (1-2, 1-1) by a 5-0 score Saturday afternoon in a South Atlantic Conference match at the Cobras Athletic Field.
The Cobras' Camille Berger (Wyomissing, Pa.) scored twice while Skylar Ponik (Lincroft, N.J.) added a pair of assists in the win.
Coker held a 17-0 edge in shots taken as the Bulldogs continue to search for their first goal of the year.
The Cobras' goalkeeper, Kylie Campbell (Newport News, Va.), earned the shutout victory while junior
Gracyn Arruda (Richmond, Va.) suffered the loss despite eight saves on the day.
Barton remains on the road to take on Belmont Abbey in a league contest next Saturday, September 20, at Noon in Belmont, N.C.
Meanwhile, Coker hosts Newberry on Sunday beginning at 2:00 p.m.
