WISE, Va. – The Barton women's volleyball team (3-1) opened the Cavalier Classic Friday afternoon with a 3-0 sweep of Davis & Elkins (0-4) at the David J. Prior Convocation Center on the campus of UVA Wise.
The Bulldogs, who beat the Senators for the second time this year, won over Senators by scores of 25-17, 25-17 and 25-14.
Barton defeated Davis & Elkins by a 3-0 score as well last Friday, September 5, at home in the 2025 Bulldogs Invitational.
Barton senior outside hitter
Lexi Wasil (Prescott, Ariz.) led the way with 15 kills while sophomore outside hitter
Bailey McIntyre (Mooresville, N.C.) added a double-double – 11 kills and 10 digs – in the victory.
Junior setter
Paige Bagwell (Kings Mountain, N.C.) tallied 30 assists as well for the Bulldogs, who hit .320 for the match and totaled seven service aces.
The Senators' Kaylee Vanjo (Concord Township, Ohio) finished with eight kills but Davis & Elkins continues to search for its first triumph of the season.
Barton wraps up the round-robin tournament with matches on Saturday against Concord (10:00 a.m.) and UVA Wise (Noon).
