WILSON, N.C. – The Barton baseball team (26-13) let a three-run lead slip away with a 7-6 setback to Coker (23-16) Tuesday afternoon in a non-regional game at Nixon Field.
Trailing by a 6-3 score, the Cobras scored four runs in the top of the eighth inning to rally past the Bulldogs. Coker's Hunter Poole (Fayetteville, N.C.) had the game-winning, RBI single for the visitors, who swept the season series from Barton.
Poole drove in two runs while Gabriel Santiago (Orlando, Fla.) added a two-run single in the fourth-run eighth frame as well for the Cobras.

Caleb Holland (Fayetteville, N.C.) finished with two hits and two RBI and junior third baseman
Yariel Diaz (Fort Myers, Fla.) added three hits and drove in a run despite the loss.
On the mound, Coker's Cooper Thomas (Piedmont, S.C.) improved to 2-0 after earning the win in relief while Brittan Adams (York, S.C.) pitched two scoreless innings for his second save of the year. Barton senior

Barton remains at home to take on Emmanuel in a non-league doubleheader on Saturday beginning at Noon while Coker faces Anderson in Anderson, S.C., on Friday starting at 6:00 p.m.
