MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Barton men's lacrosse team (4-9, 3-4) defeated Chowan (1-11, 0-7) by a 16-7 score in a Conference Carolinas contest and the regular season finale at Hawks Field.

Nick Pomilio (Raleigh, N.C.) and junior attacker
Kale Grehan (Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA) both scored three times as the visitors used a seven-goal third period to break the contest open.

Nick Nelson (Wilmington, N.C.) added a goal and three assists – giving him a team-leading 31 on the season – as the Bulldogs held sizeable advantages in both shots taken (50-25) and ground balls (33-20) in the victory. Nelson also ranks first on the squad in points (43) while Pomilio has a team-leading 22 goals on the year.
Chowan's Reed Low (Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA) scored twice for the home team, who finished the year winless and ended the campaign on a six-match losing streak.

Nate Lehr (Chenango Bridge, N.Y.) earned the victory in goal after stopping eight shots while Chowan's goalkeeper, Rocco Smith (Stuart, Fla.), made 15 saves in the losing effort.
Barton will next compete in the 2025 Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Championship and will host Emmanuel in the quarterfinals on Tuesday, April 22, at Electric Supply Company Field and Truist Stadium. The Bulldogs will be the fourth seed in the tournament while the Lions are seeded fifth.
