YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The Barton men's lacrosse team (1-6, 0-1) put on a furious rally in the fourth and final stanza but came up just short to Young Harris (3-4, 1-0), 15-14, Saturday afternoon in the Conference Carolinas opener at Mountain Lions Field.
Young Harris' Lukus Olson (Boiling Springs, S.C.) led all scorers with five goals while David Traywick (Vestavia Hills, Ala.) added four scores as the Mountain Lions held off the Bulldogs for the win.
Trailing by 14-8 score to start the fourth stanza, Barton reeled off five straight goals to cut the margin to one – 14-13 – but the teams then traded scores and Young Harris was able to come out on top.

Nic Lord (Wilmington, N.C.) – who scored the first and last goals of the game – finished with three goals while sophomore attacker
Nick Pomilio (Raleigh, N.C.) added three scores but the visitors last their third one-goal contest of the year. Lord leads the team in goals scored with 12 this season.
In goal, Young Harris' Dylan Wilbur (Dallas, Ga.) earned the victory in goal after stopping 10 shots while Barton senior
Nate Lehr (Chenango Bridge, N.Y.) suffered the loss despite five saves.
Barton lost despite a 39-30 edge in ground balls and a game-high six assists from junior attacker
