WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's lacrosse team (1-7, 0-2) lost to Belmont Abbey (5-2, 1-0) by an 11-6 score Saturday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas game at Truist Stadium and Electric Supply Company Field.
The Crusaders' Nate Lorenzo (Howell, N.J.) led all scorers with five goals as the visitors jumped out to a 5-0 advantage after one quarter of play and stayed ahead by at least three scores the rest of the way as Belmont Abbey won its fourth straight contest.

Nick Nelson (Wilmington, N.C.) and senior midfielder
Bryce Washington (Humble, Texas) both scored twice but the Bulldogs suffered their sixth consecutive setback. Nelson leads the squad with 25 total points.
Barton lost despite a 39-33 advantage in shots taken but Belmont Abbey's goalkeeper, Christian Tomei (Jupiter, Fla.), came up big with 21 saves to earn the victory.
Senior
Nate Lehr (Chenango Bridge, N.Y.) suffered the loss in goal for the Bulldogs, despite 11 saves on the afternoon.
Barton remains at home to face Emmanuel in a league game on Saturday, March 22, beginning at 3:00 p.m., while Belmont Abbey hosts Young Harris on Tuesday, March 25, starting at 3:30 p.m.
