MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Barton men's lacrosse team (2-8, 1-3) suffered an 11-3 loss to rival Mount Olive (4-5, 3-1) Tuesday evening in a Conference Carolinas contest at the Ray McDonald, Sr., Senior Sports Complex.
The Trojans jumped out to a 5-0 advantage after one quarter of play and held the Bulldogs without a goal until after intermission as Mount Olive stayed in the thick of the conference race.
Mount Olive was led by Brayden Rieger (Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, CANADA) with a match-high three goals to along with three assists as the home team picked up their second straight victory.

Nick Nelson (Wilmington, N.C.) and sophomore attacker
Jimi Carter (Huntingtown, Md.) both finished with a goal and an assist and the Bulldogs held a 35-28 edge in shots despite the loss.
Mount Olive's goalkeeper, Kurtis Lensing (Wake Forest, N.C.), finished with 15 saves on his way to the win while Barton senior
Nate Lehr (Chenango Bridge, N.Y.) made nine stops despite the loss.
Barton next faces Lees-McRae on Saturday, April 5, at 1:00 p.m., in a league match at Truist Stadium while Mount Olive travels to Belmont, N.C., to take on Belmont Abbey on Saturday, March 29, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
