WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's volleyball team (11-9, 6-2) swept North Greenville (6-10, 4-6) in three sets, 3-0, Saturday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas contest at Wilson Gymnasium.
The Bulldogs defeated the Trailblazers by scores of 25-21, 25-22 and 25-19 and swept the season series from North Greenville.
Barton was led by senior outside hitters
Jake Adams (Clermont, Fla.) and
Jack Sandahl (Gloucester, Va.) with 11 kills each while senior setter
Seth Deppe (Mukwonago, Wis.) added 29 assists and eight digs to near a double-double in the victory.
The Bulldogs hit .349 for the match while limiting the Trailblazers to a .178 hitting percentage in the triumph.
North Greenville was led by Thomas Roper (Acworth, Calif.) and Carter Shomock (Lewis Center, Ohio) with 10 kills each but the visitors were hurt by 12 service errors.
Barton remains at home to take on Mount Olive in a conference showdown on Tuesday beginning at 7:00 p.m., while North Greenville travels to Harrogate, Tenn., to face Lincoln Memorial on Friday starting at 6:00 p.m.
