WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's volleyball team (11-10, 6-3) fell to Mount Olive (14-2, 9-0) in straight sets, 3-0, Tuesday evening in a Conference Carolinas match at Wilson Gymnasium.
The Bulldogs fell to the Trojans by scores of 25-21, 25-18 and 25-16 while Mount Olive ran its winning streak to 12 matches.
Mount Olive's Kory Grant (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) led the way with a match-high 20 kills while Jackson Lahey (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) added 39 assists as the Trojans finished with 11 service aces in the triumph.
Mount Olive has won 34 consecutive sets and has not lost a set in nine league matches this year.
Barton was led by senior outside hitter
Jack Sandahl (Gloucester, Va.) with 10 kills and five blocks while senior setter
Seth Deppe (Mukwonago, Wis.) totaled 22 assists in the setback.
Barton faces King in Bristol, Tenn., in a conference contest on Friday at 7:00 p.m., while Mount Olive takes on Lees-McRae on Friday in Banner Elk, N.C., starting at 7:00 p.m., as well.
