CENTRAL, S.C. – The Barton women's lacrosse team (2-3, 1-0) opened Conference Carolinas play with a dominant win over Southern Wesleyan (1-6, 0-2), 23-3, Saturday afternoon at Childs Field.
A trio of Bulldogs – senior attackers
Andrea Davila (Jacksonville, N.C.),
Kloe Martin (Dracut, Mass.) and
Samantha Serio (Wading River, N.Y.) – all scored three times as Barton rolled to an 11-1 lead after one quarter of play and never looked back in the victory. Martin leads the team in goals (11) and total points (14) so far this season.

Kate Matuza (Hampstead, N.C.) added five points – two goals and three assists – as the visitors held a sizeable advantage in shots taken (37-10) and a 31-21 edge in ground balls.
Southern Wesleyan's Rinna Beth Brooker (Evans, Ga.) scored two goals for the home team despite the loss. The Warriors, however, suffered their sixth straight setback.

Savannah Graves (Calvert County, Md.) earned the victory after making a pair of saves while Caroline Lark (Boiling Springs, S.C.) stopped four shots in the setback for Southern Wesleyan.
Barton next travels to Petersburg, Va., to take on Virginia State on Tuesday, March 4, starting at 3:00 p.m., while Southern Wesleyan hosts Bridgeport Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
