WILSON, N.C. – The Barton College men's lacrosse team (0-1) suffered an 18-8 setback to No. 3 Lenoir-Rhyne (2-0) Saturday afternoon in the 2025 season opener at Truist Stadium and Electric Supply Company Field.

Lenoir-Rhyne's Joel Brusnahan (Atascocita, Texas) scored four times while Robert Walker (Cumming, Ga.) added three goals as the Bears pushed out a 2-1 advantage late in the first quarter to a 12-1 lead at the start of the third quarter for the convincing win.

The Bears, who were national finalists last season and the 2023 NCAA Division II National Champions, held a 46-34 edge in shots taken and a 37-20 margin in ground balls in the victory.

Barton sophomore attacker Nick Pomilio (Raleigh, N.C.) led the home team with three goals, senior attacker Nic Lord (Wilmington, N.C.) scored twice and junior attacker Nick Nelson (Wilmington, N.C.) totaled three points – a goal and assist – in the losing effort.
