Barton baseball takes two from Florida Tech Saturday on the road, 14-2 and 11-7

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Barton baseball team (3-4) swept a doubleheader from Florida Tech (3-3), 14-2 and 11-7, Saturday afternoon at the Andy Seminick-Les Hall.

Game One – Barton 14, Florida Tech 2 (seven innings)
The Bulldogs' senior outfielder Evan Harding (Clayton, N.C.) hit a solo home run while senior shortstop Luis Sauri (Buena, N.J.) drove in five runs as the Bulldogs took advantage of five Panthers' errors which led to eight unearned runs in the win.

Barton junior Terel Tillman (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) (1-1) earned his first victory of the year after allowing two runs while pitching into the fifth inning to go along with seven strikeouts.   The Panthers' Tyler Dietz (Trinity, Fla.) (1-1) was tagged with the loss.

Game Two – Barton 11, Florida Tech 7
Sauri came through again with the game-winning, two-run single in the top of the seventh inning which broke a four-all tie as the Bulldogs scored seven runs over the final three innings to complete the sweep.  Sauri finished with three hits and two RBI as well.

Barton junior third baseman Yariel Diaz (Fort Myers, Fla.) added a two-run double in the ninth inning while redshirt freshman pitcher Brady Dunlop (Clayton, N.C.) (1-0) was credited with the victory in relief.

Florida Tech's Roman Samson (Tampa, Fla.) drove in three runs despite no hits in the contest and Trenten Anderson (Orange City, Fla.) (0-2) suffered the setback.

The two teams will wrap up the four-game series with a contest at Noon on Sunday.
