HICKORY, N.C. – The Barton women's lacrosse team (1-3) fell to Lenoir-Rhyne (2-2), 14-9, Wednesday afternoon at Moretz Stadium.
A trio of Bears – Chloe Christensen (Clemmons, N.C.), Kirra Olson (Holly Springs, N.C.) and Abbey Walker (Canton, Ga.) – scored three goals in the victory.
Holding a 5-4 advantage with just over six minutes remaining in the second quarter, the Bears took control with six consecutive scores and the Bulldogs couldn't get within four goals the rest of the way.

Tamia Marshall (Wilmington, N.C.) led the visitors with three goals while senior attacker
Kate Matuza (Hampstead, N.C.) added three points – a goal and a pair of assists – despite the setback.
Lenoir-Rhyne's goalkeeper, Sally Friesen (Calgary, Alberta, CANADA), earned the win after making 13 saves on the day while senior goalkeeper
Savannah Graves (Calvert County, Md.) suffered the loss for Barton despite seven stops.
The Bears held the margins in both shots taken (31-25) and ground balls (19-12) in the triumph.
Barton remains on the road to take on face Southern Wesleyan in the Conference Carolinas opener on Saturday, March 1, at Noon while Lenoir-Rhyne hosts Wingate Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
