NEWBERRY, S.C. – The Barton women's lacrosse team (0-1) opened the season with a 14-6 loss to Newberry (3-0) Saturday morning at Setzler Field.
The Wolves' Emma Jobs (Sherwood Park, Alberta, CANADA) led all scorers with six goals as Newberry rallied from an early 3-0 deficit to start the match to remain unbeaten on the year.
Newberry held advantages in both shots taken (28-20) and ground balls (24-14) and scored seven straight goals to take control of the match.

Taryn Ugliono (Hampstead, N.C.) scored twice to lead the visitors. Newberry's Mackenzie Dorr (Riverhead, N.Y.) earned the victory in goal after stopping 11 shots on the day.

Savannah Graves (Calvert County, Md.) suffered the loss despite 10 saves on the afternoon.
Barton hosts Embry-Riddle (Fla.) in the home opener on Monday at Noon at Truist Stadium and Electric Supply Company Field while Newberry hosts Lander on Wednesday starting at 4:00 p.m.
