GOLDSBORO, N.C. – The Barton baseball team (6-6, 2-1) took the Conference Carolinas weekend series from King (Tenn.) (3-7, 1-2) with a 9-6 triumph on Saturday afternoon at Carolina Athletic Park.

Evan Harding (Clayton, N.C.) hit two home runs to go along with six RBI as the Bulldogs rallied from a 2-0 deficit after the first half-inning of the contest to beat the Tornado for the second straight game.
Harding's three-run round-tripper in the bottom of the fifth inning gave the Bulldogs a 4-2 lead which proved to be the game-winning hit. Harding added a two-run home run in Barton's half of the eighth frame to round out the scoring.

Mason Staz (Olin, N.C.) added a two-run double while redshirt freshman
Brady Dunlop (Clayton, N.C.) pitched four innings in relief to improve to 2-0 on the season. Barton sophomore
Blake Altschuler (Concord, N.C.) pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his second save on the year.
For King, Joe Uribe (Palmdale, Calif.) hit a three-run home run but Cole Pletcher (Kannapolis, N.C.) fell to 0-2 after taking the setback.
Barton hits the road to take on Wingate on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m., in Wingate, N.C., while King takes on UVA Wise in Wise, Va., on Tuesday starting at 3:00 p.m.
