BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Barton men's basketball team (12-12, 8-8) fell to Lees-McRae (11-13, 8-8) by an 87-75 score on Wednesday night in a Conference Carolinas game at Williams Gymnasium.
The Bobcats' Brandon Brown (Bristol, Tenn.) came off the bench to score a game-high 26 points to go along with five treys while DJ Kent (Concord, N.C.) added 21 points as the home team won their third straight game.

Shawn Nelson (Miami, Fla.) finished with a team-high 14 points and senior guard
Trey Crews (Durham, N.C.) also scored in double figures for the Bulldogs, totaling 10 points as a reserve in setback.
Lees-McRae jumped out to a 43-36 halftime advantage and stayed ahead of Barton the rest of the way in the victory. The Bobcats powered their way to the triumph thanks to a 54-40 edge on the boards and a 23-of-28 performance (82 percent) from the charity stripe.
The Bulldogs hit just six-of-23 (26 percent) three-point attempts in the losing effort as well.
Barton returns home to host Converse for Senior Day on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m., at Wilson Gymnasium in a league contest while Lees-McRae hosts Chowan on Friday beginning at 7:00 p.m.
