MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Barton women's volleyball team (5-11, 2-7) fell to rival Mount Olive (6-11, 4-5), 3-1, in a Conference Carolinas contest Wednesday evening at Kornegay Arena.
The Trojans won over the Bulldogs by scores of 25-17, 25-16, 22-25 and 25-17 and snapped a two-match losing streak in the process.
Mount Olive was led by Kaitlyn Landis (Troutman, N.C.) with 12 kills to along with 11 digs while Lyndsay Reid (Thomasville, N.C.) added a double-double – 19 assists and 12 digs – in the victory.

Bailey McIntyre (Mooresville, N.C.) finished with 12 kills and 11 digs and junior setter
Paige Bagwell (Kings Mountain, N.C.) tallied 30 assists and 12 digs but the Bulldogs suffered their third consecutive defeat.
Barton was limited to a 0.078 hitting percentage and was hurt by 10 service aces in the setback.
Barton remains on the road to face UNC Pembroke in a conference contest Friday in Pembroke, N.C., beginning at 6:00 p.m. Mount Olive takes on North Greenville in league action Friday evening at 7:00 p.m.
