WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's volleyball team (5-10, 2-6) couldn't hold a two-set lead and fell to Emmanuel (9-5, 7-1), 3-2, Saturday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas contest at Wilson Gymnasium.
The Lions won by scores 21-25, 23-25, 25-15, 25-20 and 15-9 after falling behind by two sets to start the match.
Emmanuel's Natalie Wilson (Roswell, Ga.) led the way with a match-high 20 kills and Brooke Lee (McKinney, Texas) tallied a double-double – 16 kills and 12 digs – as the Lions won their third straight contest.
The Lions' Marusa Pesut (Maribur, SLOVENIA) added 51 assists and 13 digs as Emmanuel remained tied with Shorter at the top of the Southwest Division standings.

Madeline Hope (Mount Holly, N.C.) and sophomore outside hitter
Bailey McIntyre (Mooresville, N.C.) finished with 11 kills each and the Bulldogs totaled 11 service aces despite the loss.
Barton hits the road to take on rival Mount Olive in a conference match Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m., while Emmanuel takes on Augusta on Tuesday in Augusta, Ga., starting at 7:00 p.m.
