CENTRAL, S.C. – The Barton women's volleyball team (6-16, 3-12) put an end to an eight-match losing streak with a 3-2 victory over Southern Wesleyan (10-9, 8-7) Saturday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas contest at historic Tysinger Gymnasium.
The Bulldogs won over the Warriors by scores of 17-25, 25-21, 20-25, 25-15 and 25-12.
Barton was led by senior outside hitter
Lexi Wasil (Prescott, Ariz.) with a match-high 17 kills while sophomore outside hitter
Bailey McIntyre (Mooresville, N.C.) and junior outside hitter
Mattie Wells (Elkin, N.C.) both totaled a dozen kills each in the triumph.

Paige Bagwell (Kings Mountain, N.C.) came through with a monster double-double – 41 assists and 12 digs – as the Bulldogs overcame 14 service errors to take the win.
Southern Wesleyan's Kaylon Chapman (Pickens, S.C.) totaled a team-high 12 kills for the home team but the Warriors dropped their second straight contest.
Barton remains on the road to take on Francis Marion in a league contest on Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m., in Florence, S.C. Meanwhile, Southern Wesleyan hosts Belmont Abbey in a conference contest next Friday, October 31, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
