SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Barton women's volleyball team (5-16, 2-12) lost to Converse (15-6, 11-3) in three sets Friday evening in a Conference Carolinas contest at Tom & Tracy Hannah Gymnasium.
The Valkyries won over the Bulldogs by scores of 25-15, 25-13 and 25-21 to win their second straight contest and remained at the top of the Northwest Standings.
Converse was led by Ava Trentman (New Bremen, Ohio) was 12 kills while Alysha Arroyo (Isabela, PUERTO RICO) tallied a double-double – 35 assists and 11 digs – in the triumph.

Paige Bagwell (Kings Mountain, N.C.) finished with 13 assists and five kills but the Bulldogs were limited to a 0.094 hitting percentage in the setback. Converse also tallied 11 service aces in the triumph.
Barton, looking to snap an eight-game losing streak, remains on the road to take on Southern Wesleyan on Saturday beginning at 2:00 p.m., in Central, S.C., in conference action.
Converse, meanwhile, remains at home to host league-foe Chowan on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
