WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's volleyball team (5-14, 2-10) fell in a five-setter to King (6-13, 4-8), 3-2, Saturday afternoon in a Conference Carolina match at Wilson Gymnasium.
The Tornado won over the Bulldogs by scores of 25-19, 24-26, 22-25, 26-24 and 15-11 and snapped a six-match losing streak in the process.
King was led by Gracia Love (Greenback, Tenn.) with 21 kills and 20 digs while Faith Morse (Lake Worth, Fla.) added 36 assists in the victory for the visitors.
Barton sophomore outside hitter
Bailey McIntyre (Mooresville, N.C.) finished with a double-double – 16 kills and 19 assists – while senior outside hitter
Lexi Wasil (Prescott, Ariz.) added 13 kills but the Bulldogs suffered their sixth straight loss.
Barton remains at home to take on rival Mount Olive in a conference match Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, King returns home to host Lees-McRae in a league contest Wednesday night starting at 6:00 p.m., as well.
