CENTRAL, S.C. – The Barton women's basketball team (10-9, 6-5) bounced back with an 80-68 win over Southern Wesleyan (5-14, 2-10) Saturday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas contest at historic Tysinger Gymnasium.

Lauren Mingo (Clinton, Md.) added 22 points, eight rebounds, five assists and five steals as the Bulldogs recovered from a disappointing loss to rival Mount Olive Wednesday evening at home.
Barton hit 11 three-pointers and built a 20-point advantage on two occasions – 60-40 and 63-43 – late in the third quarter as the Bulldogs swept the season series from the Warriors. Barton won by an 82-75 score on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at home.

Lauren Walker (Charlotte, N.C.) added 17 points to go along with four three-pointers and crossed the 1,700-point mark for her collegiate career. Walker's 1,703 points rank eighth all-time on the Bulldogs' scoring list.
Southern Wesleyan was paced by Taylin Smith (Beaverton, Ohio) with 14 points but the Warriors dug themselves too deep in a hole in suffering their third straight defeat.
Barton hit nearly 50 percent (32-of-65) from the floor as well and held a 41-32 advantage on the boards in the triumph.
Barton returns home to take on UNC Pembroke on Wednesday night in a Conference Carolinas contest at Wilson Gymnasium beginning at 5:00 p.m., while Southern Wesleyan travels to Franklin Springs, Ga., to face Emmanuel on Tuesday starting at 5:00 p.m.
