MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Barton men's volleyball team (0-2) lost in three sets to Barry (3-0), 3-0, Saturday afternoon at the Health and Sports Center.
The Buccaneers won over the Bulldogs by scores of 29-27, 26-24 and 25-23 and beat Barton for the second time in as many days.
The Buccaneers, who are competing in their first year as a program, were led by Philip Tein (Cologne, GERMANY) with a match-high 20 kills while Tristan Blake (Allen, Texas) added 25 assists and seven digs in the victory.
Barry limited Barton to a 0.073 hitting percentage as the home team remained unbeaten on the year.
Barton was led by senior outside hitter
Jack Sandahl (Gloucester, Va.) and freshman outside hitter
Lawson Hink (Brookfield, Wis.) with nine kills each and senior setter
Seth Deppe (Mukwonago, Wis.) with 28 assists despite the setback.
Barton next travels to Charlotte, N.C., to take on Tusculum (3:00 p.m.) and Queens (6:00 p.m.) in a tri-match next Sunday at the Levine Center. Barry faces Fairleigh Dickinson next Wednesday, February 15, at 7:00 p.m., in Madison, N.J.
