MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Barton men's volleyball team (0-1) fell to Barry (2-0) by a 3-0 score in the Bulldogs' 2025 season opener Friday evening at the Health and Sports Center.
The Bucs prevailed over the Bulldogs by scores of 25-23, 26-24 and 25-20.
The Buccaneers, who are competing in their first year as an intercollegiate program, were led by Colton Beres (Bradenton, Fla.) with a team-high 14 kills to go along with seven digs and three blocks.
Tristan Blake (Allen, Texas) added 35 assists in addition to four digs and four blocks for Barry, who defeated Erskine by a 3-2 score the night before in the program's first-ever contest.
Barton was paced by senior outside hitter
Jack Sandahl (Gloucester, Va.), who totaled a team-high 14 kills and five blocks while senior setter
Seth Deppe (Mukwonago, Wis.) added 19 digs in the losing effort.
In addition, the Bulldogs were limited to a .134 hitting percentage and the visitors committed 14 service errors in the setback.
The two teams will play again Saturday afternoon on the Buccaneers home court beginning at 1:00 p.m.
