WILSON, N.C. – The Barton Football Team (2-2, 1-1) snapped a two-game losing streak with a 27-13 victory over Anderson (2-2, 0-2) Saturday afternoon at Electric Supply Company Field and Truist Stadium.
Barton senior wide receiver
Jayden Flood-Brown (Newport News, Va.) caught touchdown passes of 69 yards and 65 yards, respectively, and finished with seven catches for 162 yards on the day to lead the Bulldogs to victory. Flood-Brown's first touchdown catch came on the first play of a drive late in the second quarter to open the scoring.
Barton sophomore quarterback
Trevor Nored (Waldorf, Md.) added 289 yards through the air and redshirt freshman running back
Dakauri Davis (Baltimore, Md.) and freshman running back
Jackson Parrish (Graham, N.C.) added scoring runs in the second half of nine and 12 yards, respectively, to lift the home team to the win.
Anderson's Jalon Warthen-Carr (Macon, Ga.) returned a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter but the Bulldogs' defense limited the Trojans to just 80 yards passing in the contest.
Barton allowed just 251 yards total while senior defensive back
Dereck Barringer (Rockingham, N.C.) finished with a team-high 13 tackles and a quarterback sack.
Barton hits the road to take on Carson-Newman on Saturday, October 5, at 1:00 p.m., in a conference contest at Jefferson City, Tenn., while Anderson hosts Catawba Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
