ETTRICK, Va. – The Barton women's soccer team (2-1-1) shut out Virginia State (0-3), 4-0, Saturday afternoon at Rogers Stadium.

Lexis Goldberg (Sanford, N.C.) scored twice while junior forward
Jenessa Gray (Orlando, Fla.) added a goal and the match-winning assist as the Bulldogs posted their third consecutive shutout.
The Bulldogs' defense set up the first two goals as Gray retrieved the ball from an errant Trojans' pass and found senior defender
Hannah Johnson (Oneonta, N.Y.) in the box for the first score of the match at the 8:43 mark of the first half.
Gray also took advantage of a failed clear by Virginia State to find the back of the net in the 47th minute before Goldberg rounded out the scoring for the visitors with a pair of goals.
Barton held a 12-11 advantage in shots taken while senior goalkeeper
Taylor Primack (Lindenhurst, Ill.) earned the shutout victory after making six saves. Virginia State's Maya Cajchun (Burke, Va.) made five stops but suffered the loss in goal.
Barton remains on the road to take on Bluefield State in Bluefield, W.Va., on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m., while Virginia State hosts Hampton on Monday at 4:00 p.m.
