TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The Barton men's soccer team (3-0, 1-0) opened Conference Carolinas play with a 1-0 road victory over North Greenville (2-1, 0-1) Saturday evening at Pepsi Stadium.
Barton junior forward
Tommy Migliarotti (Milan, ITALY) scored the lone goal of the match in the 83rd minute after connecting just outside the top of the box and finding the top right corner of the net for the goal.
Graduate student forward
Luis Weber (Stuttgart, GERMANY) and senior defender
Jeremy Alvarez (Sims, N.C.) were both credited with the assist for the Bulldogs.
Both teams totaled 11 shots on the evening while Barton junior goalkeeper
Steingrimur Gunnarsson (Grenivik, ICELAND) earned the shutout victory after tallying four saves for the contest. North Greenville's goalkeeper, Ricardo Marques (Lisboa, PORTUGAL), suffered the loss despite a pair of stops.
Barton next hosts Erskine on Saturday, September 21, at 4:00 p.m., in a league contest while North Greenville remains at home to face King on Wednesday night starting at 7:00 p.m.
