BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Barton men's volleyball team (9-7) fell to LIU (7-11) for the second consecutive evening in straight sets, 3-0, Saturday night at the Steinberg Wellness Center.
The Sharks defeated the Bulldogs by scores of 25-23, 25-18 and 25-19 on their way to their third straight victory.
The Sharks' Livan Moreno (Havana, CUBA) finished with a team-high nine kills while Roei Horovitz (Beer Sheva, ISRAEL) added 21 assists and eight digs in the victory.
Barton junior outside hitter
Jack Sandahl (Gloucester, Va.) totaled a match-high 10 kills and junior setter
Seth Deppe (Mukwonago, Wisc.) finished with a double-double – 27 assists and 10 digs – despite the loss.
Barton freshman
Luke Deppe (Mukwonago, Wisc.) also neared a double-double with eight kills and seven digs but the Bulldogs were hurt by 12 service errors and a .115 hitting percentage.
Barton returns to the court on Wednesday, March 13, to face Queens in Charlotte, N.C., beginning at 7:00 p.m., while LIU hosts St. Thomas Aquinas on Friday starting at 7:00 p.m.
