BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Barton men's volleyball team (9-6) fell in three sets to LIU (6-11) Friday evening at the Steinberg Wellness Center.
The Sharks won over the Bulldogs by scores of 25-19, 26-24 and 25-15 on their way to a second straight victory.
LIU was spearheaded by Gio Collazo (San Juan, PUERTO RICO), who totaled team-highs in kills (12), digs (eight), blocks (seven) and aces (three).
The Sharks' Jack Sarnowski (Winter Springs, Fla.) added 34 assists for the home team, who hit .333 for the match in the victory.
Barton was led by junior outside hitter
Jack Sandahl (Gloucester, Va.) with eight kills while junior setter
Seth Deppe (Mukwonago, Wisc.) totaled 22 assists and seven digs despite the setback. Barton, however, was limited to a 0.065 hitting percentage for the contest.
The two teams will play again on Saturday beginning at 7:00 p.m.
