FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The Barton men's lacrosse team (4-6, 2-0) stayed perfect in Conference Carolinas play with a 16-11 road victory over Emmanuel (Ga.) (0-10, 0-2) Saturday afternoon at Stephens Field.

Jimi Carter (Huntingtown, Md.) and graduate student attacker
Matt Calleri (Holly Springs, N.C.) both totaled five points in the win. Carter scored three times and added a pair of assists while Calleri tallied one goal and four assists as the Bulldogs kept the Lions winless in conference play.
Calleri, the current league player of the week, continues to lead the team in goals scored (13), assists (19) and total points (32) as the Bulldogs jumped out to a 6-1 lead early in the second period and kept their advantage at four scores the rest of the way in the triumph.
Barton held advantages in both shots taken (45-28) and ground balls (57-36) while the Bulldogs goalkeeper, sophomore
Drew Wheeler (Fuquay-Varina, N.C.), earned the win after playing the first half and registering five saves.
Emmanuel's Jared Weiss (Rockledge, Fla.) scored three times to lead the home team while Matt Pesek (Friendswood, Texas) suffered the loss in goal despite stopping 15 shots.
Barton also received a pair of goals from senior midfielder
J.J. Mitchell (Winston-Salem, N.C.) and junior attacker
Nic Lord (Wilmington, N.C.) and sophomore midfielder
Jack Scalise (Burnt Hills, N.Y.).
Barton returns home to take on North Greenville next Saturday, March 30, against Young Harris at Truist Stadium beginning at 2:00 p.m., while Emmanuel hosts Belmont Abbey on Wednesday starting at 4:00 p.m.
