WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's lacrosse team (2-5) rallied from a five-goal deficit in the third period to stun Catawba (3-2), 11-10, in overtime Saturday afternoon in an NCAA Division II regional contest at Truist Stadium and Electric Supply Company Field.

Bryce Washington (Humble, Texas) scored the game-winner with 37 seconds left in overtime as the Bulldogs spotted the Indians a 9-4 advantage with just under five minutes left in the third stanza before rallying to snap a four-game losing streak. Washington finished with two goals in the triumph.

Nick Calleri (Holly Springs, N.C.) and graduate student attacker
Matt Calleri (Holly Springs, N.C.) both scored three times while the former scored the final two goals of the fourth period including one with 1:19 left to force overtime.
Catawba's Gabriel Barker (King, N.C.) and Bakari Neely (Toledo, Ohio) both scored twice to lead the visitors in the setback. The Indians turned the ball over 21 times including several critical ones late in the fourth period and overtime to help the Bulldogs stay alive.
Catawba held a 43-42 advantage in shots taken while James Crighton (Palm City, Fla.) suffered the loss in goal despite 16 saves. Barton sophomore goalkeeper
Alex Stewart (Bel Air, Md.) earned the victory after making 12 saves on the day.
Barton remains at home to take on Flagler on Tuesday, March 12, at 1:00 p.m., while Catawba hosts Southern New Hampshire on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
