WILSON, N.C. – The Barton baseball team (4-0) remained unbeaten on the season with a doubleheader sweep over Lake Erie (0-4), 3-2 and 15-8, Sunday afternoon at Nixon Field.
Game One – Barton 3, Lake Erie 2

Tanner Halvorson (Eau Claire, Wis.) came through the walk-off RBI double – scoring junior shortstop 
Luis Sauri (Buena, N.J.) – in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Bulldogs to the win.

Matt Rivers (Kernersville, N.C.) (1-0) went the distance and earned the victory after limiting the Storm to just a pair of runs while striking out 10 batters.
Lake Erie's Graham Solak (Amherst, Ohio) and Mitchel Szymczak (Strongsville, Ohio) both had run-scoring doubles but Landen Vance (Metamora, Ohio) (0-1) was tagged with the loss.
Game Two – Barton 15, Lake Erie 8
Barton senior outfielder 
Josh Hoffman (Belle Vernon, Pa.) finished with three hits and a game-high five runs batted in highlighted by a pair of two-run doubles as the Bulldogs cruised to the win and swept the Storm.
Sauri added four hits for the Bulldogs, who broke the contest open with a six-run sixth frame.  Barton senior 
Ian Asken (Apex, N.C.) (1-0) earned the win in relief.
Solak hit a two-run home run in the first inning while Jake Vasil (Bainbridge, Ohio) (0-1) suffered the loss.
Barton remains at home to host Felician on Friday, February 9, at 2:00 p.m., while Lake Erie next takes on Notre Dame (Ohio) in a doubleheader on Saturday, February 17, beginning at Noon in Avon, Ohio.
