MOORESVILLE, N.C. – The Barton men's lacrosse team (1-5) came up short to Lander (4-1), 16-11, Saturday afternoon at Mooresville High School.
The Bearcats' Nolan Oakey (Calgary, Alberta, CANADA) led all scorers with four goals while Zane Dalpe (Windsor, Ontario, CANADA) added three scores as Lander scored early and often on its way to the victory. The Bearcats scored 13 of their 16 goals before intermission.

Nic Lord (Wilmington, N.C.) and graduate student
Matt Calleri (Holly Springs, N.C.) – scored twice but Barton suffered its third straight setback. Washington and Calleri are tied for the team lead in goals scored this year with seven so far.
Lander won despite Barton holding a 51-40 edge in shots taken. The Bearcats' goalkeeper, Nicholas Page (Calgary, Alberta, CANADA), earned the victory after stopping 14 shots. Barton sophomore
Alex Stewart (Harford County, Md.) made five saves but suffered the loss.
Barton returns home to face Catawba at Electric Supply Company Field and Truist Stadium on Saturday, March 1, at 2:00 p.m., while Lander travels to Tigerville, S.C., to play North Greenville on Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
