WILSON, N.C. – The Barton baseball team (7-0) stayed perfect on the year with a 10-2 triumph over Felician (1-3) on Sunday afternoon at Nixon Field.
Barton senior first baseman
John McNamee (Philadelphia, Pa.) hit a pair of home runs and finished with four runs batted in as the Bulldogs defeated the Golden Falcons twice over the weekend.
Barton junior third baseman
Jared Beebe (Atco, N.J.) added three hits and a pair of runs batted in as the home team limited the visitors to four hits on the day. Barton senior pitcher
Ian Asken (Apex, N.C.) improved to 2-0 on the season after earning the victory in relief. Asken pitched five innings to go along with eight strikeouts.
Felician's Haiden Walters (Coral Springs, Fla.) drove both runs while Nick DeCarlo (Barnegat, N.J.) fell to 0-1 after taking the loss.
Barton remains at home to take on Bloomsburg (Pa.) in a doubleheader next Saturday beginning at Noon while Felician will next compete in the Presidents Day Weekend Round Robin Tournament against Molloy on Friday, February 16, in Morehead City, N.C., beginning at 3:00 p.m.
